Outreach Begins in May

This year our first outreach will be held at the block near Ravina Park in South Bend.  We held a block party-style outreach there last year and this May we're going back!

Our team is getting ready . . . we have our organizational meeting the end of March - then we hit the streets in May!!

Two weeks prior to the outreach, we will walk the neighborhood inviting residents to come and be a part of this community block party.  We'll pass out flyers and let people know we just want to bless them!

So many times we encountered those that can't believe anything's free.  That's when we have the opportunity to share some Good News with them.  This can be as fun as the outreach itself, although there's a lot of work . . . which we couldn't do without volunteers.

We have truly been blessed with great ministry partners and co-laborers that love people!!

There have been multiple churches, organizations and ministries represented at these events which has been so good to show the community we can come together in peace.

It's great to know even businesses have joined us in these efforts - a local dentist's office came out last year & gave out free tooth brushes, tooth paste & yep, candy!!!  It's not a party without people, there were about 300 people last year
came to enjoy the festivities, but also had their lives changed forever.  When we can come together regardless of color, background or economic status - it just shows there's something different happening here.
Free food, fun for the whole family - that's what we like to set the environment for . . . from face painting to free books - there's something for everyone!
Also, we have live music, who doesn't like music?  Especially when it's good!!  The band, Soul'd Out will play & we have a special singer, Leigh Prathaftakis.
Looking forward to the smiles and assisting those that are in need . . . See you there!!!

The block party will be on Saturday, May 16th at 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Lebanon Street, between Broadway & Indiana.

We'll pass out flyers on the two Friday's before the outreach.

2015 Outreach Season

Looking to the mighty hand of God to fulfill His purpose
and restore broken humanity to Himself.

Colossians 1  20 . . . through him (Christ Jesus) to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
21Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.

This year we seek God's purpose and watch carefully for the return
of His son, Jesus Christ as we go about our Father's business believing Him to
open hearts and make people complete.

So, what does this have to do with outreach?  Well, let me tell you!  If it were not for the mercy & grace of God saving us from our sins . .  . we would not be reaching out to anyone.  It is only the Lord Jesus Christ that has kept us and given us His power to make a difference in the lives.  Over the last seven years we have held outreaches and partnered with other ministries, including our church to reach out to the lost with the gospel.

This couple has been a blessing in our lives as well as partners in ministry.  Pastors Lance & Leigh Prathaftakis are not only fellow ministers, but dear friends.  We are proud to serve alongside them as we serve Christ.  They have true hearts for the lost!!  Lance has been a faithful servant of the cross and committed, passionate minister. Leigh is a talented singer, but most importantly anointed to minister in song.  We are excited what the Lord will accomplish through us together this year!!!

As we begin our season in May, we will be holding three block party-style
outreaches in the South Bend area.  The Lord has also blessed us with an outstanding
christian band, "Soul'd Out".  The amazing things that will happen when we praise -

Acts 16 says 25About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.26Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.  Hallelujah!!

The following are the upcoming dates & locations for this year's outreaches:
Saturday, May 16th 12:00 p.m - 3:00 p.m. at Ravina Park (on Lebanon St. between Broadway & Indiana Ave. in South Bend)
Saturday, August 8th 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Christian Center Church 530 E. Ireland Rd., South Bend (parking lot)
Saturday, September 12th 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Kingdom Christian Center 2010 Elwood, South Bend (near corner of Johnson in rear of church)

We pray that you can come, help out, pray for us or support these outreaches financially. even a gift of $10 a month would help to pay for the expenses.  We appreciate all those that give to this ministry.  You may make your donation to:

West Side Outreach on Saturday, September 20th

Free Clothing, Live Music & Words of Life . . .

This was our last outreach this season and we were blessed beyond measure!  It was a successful day and we truly appreciate everyone involved that volunteered, provided music, sound, spoke and served!!  Praise God for faithful brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus.  We couldn't do it with you and we wouldn't want to.  As we reflect on the day, it started off with Police presence, which we were thankful for them.  Especially after being notified that there was a double homicide in the area we sat up for the block party that morning.

Our hearts were prepared, as we knew this day would be for a specific reason.  God never has you do things for no reason, he always has purpose.  The challenge to go into the uttermost parts of the earth may not be what we'd think of as the "ghetto" in our city.  As evangelists we go where the gospel is desperately needed (or sometimes wherever we find ourselves!).

The street ministry that goes on at these outreaches is incredible!  The anointing flowed as prayer, ministry from the word & worship were exercised through our gifted team!!

Pastor Mark Lantz, Christian Center Church shared a powerful message half-way through the day and the response was amazing!!

My husband, Pastor Al Sabin III, prayed for the Lord to give us 100 souls in 2014.  We keep track by salvation surveys, which we give to local churches to pray & contact people, which we counted 99 . . . I know the Lord will leave the 99 and go find the one . . . Matthew 18:12

West side Kingdom Christian Center outreach

On August 16th we'll be teaming up with Pastor Canneth Lee at Kingdom Christian Center Church to reach out to the west side of South Bend.  This will be the fourth outreach of the year and we're expecting many souls to come and receive Christ!!

We look forward to partnering together to reach our community for the kingdom of God.  The location is in an area of violence and crime, but this pastor has decided to take back his neighborhood!  As the body we are agreeing together that showing the love of Jesus Christ will draw men to Him.  Please pray for us and a great move of God!!

There will be live music, free food, free clothes, face painting, a bouncy house, free books & Bibles, and we always welcome people and get the information by our Salvation Survey.  Prayer & ministering the word is our priority!!!  The sign out front of this picture of the church says "We love our neighborhood".  After meeting with Pastor Lee & his wife, we know they mean it, as they literally hold their Wednesday night studies outside and serve free food!!
So, come out, volunteer and be a part of what God is doing on the streets of South Bend.  We will be meeting at the church parking lot on both Friday, August 8th & 15th at 5:45 p.m. to pass out flyers.  We will set up at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16th at the grassy lot at the church.

Blessings!

Outreach Update

The outreach on June 21st was a great time of giving and sharing Jesus with our community.  Many came and received not only the physical needs of food, clothing, free hair cuts, but also spiritually the people were touched as Pastor Mark Lantz of Christian Center Church gave a call for healing and restoration.  A powerful testimony was shared by Steve Roach, who gave God glory for saving his life literally.  God blessed the day and there was live music that brought the presence of the Holy Spirit as the people gathered and the gospel was shared.

Ravina Park East Side South Bend Outreach

We just completed our third outreach of the year & the Lord has increased the number of people almost double!  Reaching out to the inner-city area of South Bend has brought awareness to those that volunteer with us of the great need.  As well as touching the lives of those impacted by crime & violence, we bring the hope of the good news of Jesus Christ.

Along with a salvation message, we have a table set up to find out where people are in their beliefs of  God and his word.  It's amazing how many check on the Salvation Survey that they're not sure if they'll go to heaven when they die.  It is a great witnessing tool as we can show them in the word of God to make their salvation sure!

The Lord has blessed us with a new group that has come & led praise & worship at these events.  Music sets the atmosphere and brings the presence of the Holy Spirit to the place where we set up the event.  We also have been blessed to partner with a very talented musician & brother, Octane the Hood Apostle.  His positive message delivered in a relevant way to those we go out to has touched many lives and given them hope!!

We believe in meeting the physical needs as well as the spiritual needs of the community.  Through donations we are able to provide free clothing and shoes.  As many family struggle to clothe themselves and their children, God has laid it on our heart to meet this need.  We are thankful that it can mean dignity and cleanliness when a person has lost their job or went through illness.   Whatever the case may be - we stand on James 2:14-17.

We also feed hundreds at these outreaches, which this and the next outreach food was provided by the Woodmen of the World local chapter.  Praise the Lord for His provision!!  We appreciate all the donations of those that give to Visions Of Praise Ministries which makes this all possible.
