Food ministry . . . to the least of these.

Many things we do are "unseen" and God is the one who rewards, but I felt let to share with all of you about the things my husband does in our ministry.  We believe that those of you who support Visions Of Praise Ministries are interested in the fruit that comes from your giving.  You encourage us by your prayers and giving.  So we want to encourage you that what you give is put to good use.  As we have been blessed with supplies of food items, we give them out to local area food pantries as well as stocking our church for those in the body that are in need.

As we minister at a local trailer park, we distribute food to those that come to our bi-weekly Bible study as well as the church.  My husband, Pastor Al, not only picks up and transports the food to our distribution center, but he delivers to four pantries within a fifty mile radius as well as boxes to needy families in South Bend and Mishawaka.  It is a great work and requires a lot of physical stamina as well as organizational skills.  My husband became an ordained minister after 30 plus years of running his own business as a building contractor.  He is dedicated to the work of the Lord and is driven to bless those in need.
We use our truck along with our 12 foot cargo trailer and sometimes an open trailer to haul pallets of food from the warehouse to our distribution center.
Pastor Al puts together around 40 lb. boxes of food.  These boxes cotainer non-perishable items that sustain families for at least two weeks, if not longer.

Sometimes this may be all the family has to eat, but we make sure they know that their source is God.  We present the gospel each time we give out food.  It is a witnessing tool along with showing them Jesus in a tangible way.
All of this comes with a cost.  For the distribution and transportation alone we have hundreds of miles each month we travel just in our local area.  We do need support to help with expenses of trucking the food.  We appreciate your gifts and donations as they are tax deductible.  Please consider giving to this important need for our community.  God bless you in your faithfulness to support the work of this ministry.
